John and I each have our own section of the rabbitry. In the near future I plan to re-arrange this page so it will be easier to see what we have for each breed.
John breeds mainly Silver Foxes with the occasional Satin or cross. He will not have any purebred Satins for a while as we no longer have a buck. He is putting his focus into the Silver Foxes and has plans to form a line that works best for his purposes. His current breeders are black, but some carry blue and he may be getting blue stock soon.
Alex breeds mainly Holland Lops and Lionheads/Lionlops. The idea is to be out of Mini Lops entirely by the end of the year, so the final three breeders are for sale. There may be one last Mini Lop litter born in the fall.

Does
Juniper
June is the start of Scruffles. Her cuteness was just too much to pass up, and she's grown from a tiny ball of fluff into a strong and beautiful doe. She is a Red Satin who just loves being free. Originally meant to be kept inside as a breeder, June has since become a free-range rabbit. She still produces litters for us, and they are just as cute as she was when we first got her!
Burrow's Tar Baby "Jewel"
For Sale $60 with papers $50 to pet home!
Human-wary at first, this bunny has come a long way. Jewel is a purebred Mini Lop and mothered several litters before we got her. She has done great with the litters she's had with us. She will be retiring soon to the life of luxury - the indoors! Unlike many of our rabbits, Jewel prefers to be in the house and attempts to be smuggled in whenever we're near her. She loves being petted, playing with our dog, Mandi, eating snacks, and lazing around.

Rockcastle's TK2 "Snowflake"
For sale $50 with papers $40 to pet home
Snow is new to Scruffles. We got her May 19, 2012 when she was around six months old. She was pre-bred and kindled well for her first litter. She was still a bit shaky from the move when the kits arrived, so we hope her future litters go better than her first.
She has gotten better since her first litter and has become a good mother. She weighs in at right around 8 lbs, which is quite large for a Mini Lop. I think it just adds to her mothering abilities - that is how she got it up there, after all! She would make a great addition to a breeding program, or a good pet. Would not recommend a house with small children.

Sarah
Just added this beautiful Chocolate Holland doe. She's about 4 months old right now and still so tiny! It's hard to believe she's almost full-grown. I think she'll be on the small side of around 3lbs. Looking forward to seeing how she does as a mom when she reaches maturity in a couple more months!
Cowan's Sparkle
Opal Holland Lop doe
Sparkle is around the age of four. She has produced many beautiful babies over the past few years at Burrows, and we look forward to adding her to our breeding program and to our little rabbitry.

Mack's Sqeeky Cheeks
Harlequin Holland Lop doe
We are very excited to add this beautiful year old doe to our Holland program. Harlequin is a color pattern that I've always found fascinating so I really look forward to seeing what Sqeeky Cheeks will throw. We have hope that when bred to Hawaiian Ivory we will get some babies that are tricolor or harlequin. In the very least, she will help with the learning of the genetics of coat color!

Starburst
This Lionhead doe took hold of my heart. She's a real beauty. Her sweet temperament and soft, silky fur were just too much for me to pass up! She is expecting her first litter and we are very excited to see how she does.
Mayflower
May is the strongest of our rabbits. She's a Creme de Argent/Silver Fox mix, and has the best of both breeds. Her strong legs and large frame make for one tough rabbit. She is a force to be reckoned with, does great with her litters, and seems to enjoy having kits (babies). She produces very colorful litters and we never know what we might find in the nest box.
Delilah
Black Satin doe. She's a great mother and has done a wonderful job fostering kits. We are so happy to have her in our herd.
Scruffles 'Nilla
The daughter of May and Commodore, 'Nilla is the first true Scruffles rabbit. She was the runt of her litter, but has since far surpassed the others in size. She's grown into an brilliant doe and is producing large litters, just like her mom. She's an excellent mother with some amazing nest-making skills.
Sara
Purebred Silver Fox doe with partial pedigree. She is four months old. Great silvering. Possible blue carrier. We have great expectations for her.
Griz
8.5 Month old doe. Purebred with nearly complete papers. Blue gene carrier - we might get some Blues with McNamara!
Bucks
Mokuba
Mokuba (wooden horse) is a blue eye white Lionhead. We're excited to add him to our rabbitry. We have high hopes for him with our Lionhead and Lionlop breeding. He's extremely sweet and very calm, and his piercing blue eyes just add to his charm!
BMF's Hawaiian Ivory
Cream Holland Lop Buck
Hawaiian Ivory is a two and a half year old cream buck that we're getting from Burrows. He's sired some nice litters there and we're looking forward to seeing what he sires here! I've always been a huge fan of the creams and oranges, so I really can't wait to meet this little guy!

The Saco's Bo Howdy
Blue Holland Lop buck.
Bo is a one and a half year old Holland Lop buck who originated at the Saco Rabbitry in Conway. We're getting this lil guy from Burrows and are looking forward to showing him - and seeing the adorable kits he sires!

Rise and Shine's "Elder McNamara"
Mac is our Silver Fox buck, an early Christmas present to John. We think this large cuddle-bug is simply beautiful. He carries Blue genes and has some great potential as a buck. We look forward to seeing what he sires!
Scissors
We never quite intended to go into Netherland Dwarfs, but a friend of ours just couldn't resist this friendly little buck. He's now been added to our Lionhead breeding program. We look forward to seeing how he does! Who knows, we might get a little Netherland Doe for him in the future!
SD115 "Casper Munch"
For sale $60 with papers $50 to pet home
Our newest buck! Casper is a REW Mini Lop buck from Stardust Rabbitry. He has sired four litters and all had many colors produced. He's sweet and gentle, but he knows how to get the job done. He would make a great addition to a rabbitry, or he'd make a great pet. Casper will be at the show on January 20th in Westbrook!!

Past breeders
Christmas Eve
Eve is a Flemish Giant/Silver Fox mix. She's a huge rabbit, weighing in at around 15 lbs, but don't let the size fool you - she's one of the sweetest rabbits out there. Not to mention the laziest! Eve likes spending her day munching on greens and sleeping. She has large litters of healthy babies, and is a great mom. Her birth date is unknown.
Eve was let out to play and ended up running away to live in the woods. She is still alive and loving life outdoors!

Jupiter
Jupe and June came to Scruffles together. We didn't want Junie to be lonely, so we got her a friend. Jupiter was supposedly a buck, but try telling her that! She is likely our best breeder. Her litters are far from consistent - she's gone from having a litter of seventeen to a litter of four! - but they are healthy, strong, and always well-fed. Jupiter is a mischievous Copper Otter Satin who enjoys sneaking out of her cage to roam the farm, but she is also incredibly loyal and never strays far from her babies or June.
Jupiter would only take with Denfield, and after his passing we were unable to find a new buck for her. She has since been allowed to free-range outside again, which she so very much enjoys.

Ruby (Ruben)
We took in Ruby from a family who couldn't have him anymore. While hardly ever used for breeding, Ruby is a great addition to the rabbitry. His sweet personality and funny tendencies make him a wonderful companion. Ruby loves everything and everyone and is happiest when he's around us. He enjoys exploring the house and playing in the grass outside. We don't know how old Ruby is exactly, but we know he's an older Mini Rex (mix?). Ruby has been retired from breeding and would really love family with children to play with.
Ruby has found a new home as of 2/11/13. He moved to live with the niece of a nice man named Jason. We will miss him dearly, but the farm just was not the right place for this sweetheart. We are eagerly awaiting the updates on Ruby's new life.

Burrow's Mad Mike "Commodore"
Commie is the best of everything. This purebred Mini Lop is a big fan of the ladies and the top dog of the rabbitry. Never one to be messed with or mistaken for second best buck, Commie is the protector of the rabbitry. He's got a hard-core personality with a soft spot for playtime. He loves splashing in water, roaming the farm and being petted. He also loves being the father of litters. Commodore passed away in the most fitting way for him - fighting off an animal trying to harm one of his pregnant does. The rabbitry will never be the same without him, and he will always be in our hearts.
Felix
This Chocolate Otter Satin buck has already sired three large litters for us! He's got beautiful fur and a sweet disposition.
We are sad to announce that Felix had an accident and is no longer with us. He will be missed.

Burrow's Garfield "Denfield"
Denny is the most lovable, cuddly rabbit in the world. That may be a bit of an overstatement, but he is wicked sweet. This Mini Rex is a true gentleman, always waiting for his doe to make the first moves. Unlike most bucks, we have no fear leaving Denny in the cage with the doe for a couple weeks - he won't touch her when she's not wanting him to. He likes being outside playing in the rabbit tractor as well as being inside watching T.V. with us on the couch. Denny is a Castor Mini Rex of unknown age. Again, we're hoping to get his papers.
We are sad to announce that Denny-field has passed on. He died 12/31/12 around what we figure to be five years of age. I don't think we will ever find a buck like him. His gentleman's take on breeding is like nothing we've ever seen. R.I.P. 'lil buddy. You will be forever missed.
